Herds of wild horses are up to someting new every day. We saw these horses on the nature cruise. The tide was really exceptionall high, probably a full moon. Sometimes the mares take their new foals way off to themselves for a few days. These wild horses do this to protect their young from other horses in their herd. We see all kinds of stuff on the daily nature cruise and while kayaking. One day we saw two different mares seperated with their foals, way out in a remote spot, surrounded by water. We see large herds of horses most of the time, about 12 in each herd of ponies. Join us at the Assateague Nature Centre and go see the wild horses, bald eagles and/or dolphins here in Virginia. This is one of the best places on the East Coast. Tell all your family and friends: It departs from the Assateague Nature Centre on Chincoteague Island, VA.
